Columbus Engine, Medic and Rescue 4 with Engine and Battalion 181 and Chief 182 responded to a motor vehicle accident in front of 4465 S. Hamilton Rd. The accident was in the intersection.

M4 and Battalion 181 arrived simultaneously and set up a safe zone.

Vehicle heading southbound on SR 317 “T-boning” eastbound vehicle coming out from Directors Blvd. Driver 2 was unrestrained and had airbag deployment. Driver 2 was pinned in vehicle.

M4 checked with the driver that was “T boned” due to the fact that he was still in the vehicle. Battalion 181 checked for other victims.  M4 confirmed that they had a working extrication. Battalion 181 announced the working extrication over 8 Delta.

This brought the response of E181 who was next door on a medical run and Chief 182 from quarters.

A larger perimeter was put in place in both the north and south bound lanes of S. Hamilton Rd. AKA State Route 317 to ensure crew and scene safety.

E4 pulled and charged a hand line as the Rescue extricated the patient. Extrication was complete in about 20 minutes.

The victim was placed in full C-spine, with IV’s and transported to Grant Hospital by M4.

The driver of the second vehicle walked away with minor injuries and refused transportation.
