Madison Township has seen a tremendous growth in the
Rickenbacker area of the township. Several half and one
million square foot warehouses have been built in the
area.
These
warehouses have access to the roof for the HVAC folks to
keep the units in good repair and the fire department to
access the roof hydrants.
As
with any large structure the potential for accidents on
the roof exists. If an accident occurs on the roof of
these large structures, and it would be necessary to
remove a non-ambulatory patient, the EMS personnel would
not be able to remove the patient through the roof access.
The roof access is narrow and a back board would not fit
in the man saver.
To
facilitate the removal of a patient from the roof a
coordinated effort of several pieces of apparatus and
manpower would be needed.
