Electric Aggregation Program (for AEP customers only)

UPDATE: (May 14, 2025) Madison Township and Archer Energy have locked in a fixed rate for electricity from May 31, 2024, through May 31, 2026, of $.06649 per kWh.

PLEASE NOTE: The township program rate has NOT changed; however, due to the results of the PJM Capacity Auction, beginning with the June 2025 bill cycle, the additional auction rate will increase the rate to $.09285 kWh through May 2026. This increase will affect ALL electric customers throughout the state.

We understand it is frustrating to continue to receive the Opt-Out letters; however, this is a requirement per the PUCO (Public Utility Commission of Ohio) to help protect consumers and keep them informed of rate changes before bills are received.

The Township program will continue to offer Budget Billing through the utility, with no fees to join later, and no fees for leaving early. Any eligible resident or business may join the program.

Be aware of door-to-door and phone solicitors! Ask the following questions before you decide on your gas or electric:

  1. What is the fee for canceling a contract with them?

  2. How long is their quoted rate good for?

  3. How long is the contract period you are required to sign?

  4. Is the rate fixed or variable?

  5. Is budget billing available on the "entire" bill?

  6. What is the name of the supplier?
